RE: A Levels
In school we have A* A B etc. For the final 2 years but before it that goes like 5c 5b 5a 6c etc.
In College the highest is distinction.
And tbh, d4rk shouldn't be to worried about those results. He has uni invites and as we have seen he is a talented coder and can still get clients.

RE: A Levels
I don't go to high school anymore, though, that was 2 years ago
I'm in sixth form, which is like college for you guys,
then uni comes after that.
We've got an extra bit in our education system
An E at A' Levels (Our Sixth Form/College grading system) is like an A at GCSE (Our High School grading system)

RE: A Levels
no e should encompass the knowledge up to grade A in GCSE
Grade A at A level is the highest but A through D are at A-Level, are improvements over A at GCSE-Level.
if that helps

RE: A Levels
Somehow I think I actually understood what that meant. All these A things are confusing. XD
I think I get it though...A is the highest in A Levels and A through to D are higher then an A at the GCSE-levels and E is worth the same as an A at the GCSE-levels.
Ok, I think I got it. XD

A-Levels means Advanced Levels.
In Ireland it's different;
Our Leaving Certificate Higher Level scores are:
A1 - 100 points
A2 - 90
B1 - 85
B2 - 80
B3 - 75
C1 - 70
C2 - 65
C3 - 60
D1 - 55
D2 - 50
D3 - 45
E1 - 40
E2 - 35
E3 - 30
F1 - 25
F2 - 20
F3 - 15
NG (No Grade) - 0-15
In "Ordinary Level", an A1 is equal to a C3 in Higher Level (60 points). Most subjects are available in both levels. I do Math, Irish and History in OL.
Our total points determine what University courses we get into. You get summed up by taking your best six exams (you must take at least seven) and adding the points together. The maximum number of points you can get is 600.
Medicine is about 570 points.
Computer Programming is about 340 points.
Most courses require certain grades in certain subjects as well as the said points. To take Medicine you may need at least a B1 in Biology etc.
It helps keep the sorting machine whirring, but it's a crap system for the academically-challenged;
You may want to be a French teacher and got an A1 in French, but lost out by 10 points due to failing Math. Only then do you see the cracks in the system...
