why do people think that you have to love one system and hate everything else, yes this is a Nintendo website, but halo is the best FPS series ever and #3 is the best of them all. i love halo and if i had the cash i would by a 360. doesnt mean that i am a traitor to the Wii though.

Halo is NOT the best FPS ever. Sure, its great for a Console FPS. But its not the best ever over every platform.

ok maybe not i don't have terribly much experience with FPS's but as stated for a console game it is a damn good game, and i really dont understand why anyone wouldnt believe so.

hmm the sales would have you think it would. infact the sales would have you think its the greatest video game evar. my old neigbor is a halo h8er, i brought him over we played some matchmaking and forge and he left saying "well its actually pretty fun".

It's fashionable to hate Halo.

One thing Halo helped to make mainstream was regenerating health. I get annoyed from both a gameplay and realism standpoint when a guy can just continually patch themselves up with medkits no matter how many times he's brought within an inch of his life.

I like Bungie's forward thinking in that regard... Spartans get beat up for sure, but that shield coupled with their armor, and the self-medicating biofoam injectors to mend what pierces the armor makes the fact a spartan can last the remainder of the mission believable.

Less time searching for medical supplies, more time ducking in and out of combat. This also contributes to Halo's odd combination of strafe-and-shoot yet tactical gameplay.

Well for the record. Yes, its fun, and yes it sold well. But its still not the best FPS ever, its just an exceptional FPS for consoles... but its not like they've had much else after Goldeneye.

Metroid and Halo are both over rated in my eyes. >.>

I agree with the smart people (LMX and sc7). Fun, but FAR from the best ever. I wouldn't even say best shooter. Probably on the same level as Call of Duty 4 IMO.

back in the days halo was good because of its uniqe ity. but since nothing much really changed from game to game except the physics and addition of guns, halo 3 was shortlived for me and millions of others. halo 2 was the best halo because it was the first to incorporate online play thuse making it unique. a huge jump from halo 1 which aloud you to play over and over again and still have fun (belive me a played it for a year solid) halo 3 however nothing much changed although it was fun and till is fun, i just seems like im playing a expansion pack of halo 2 and after 1 year solid of playing halo 2 and another year of on and off playing it halo 3 just doesnt cut it like halo 2 did for me. and that is why i dont think of it as the greatest game ever. IT STILL IS GREAT BUT JUST NOT THE GREAT EVAR!

now call of duty 4 is f***ing pwnage! because its unique (for me at least i never played call of dutys up till now) although ill still be playing hal 3 alot ill be playing cod4 more i think

Your argument is the only lame thing here. In fact, Call of Duty is made better for it's realism. And at least it has a solid single player campaign to go with great multiplayer. Not to mention that Halo 3 feels like Halo 2 with a couple new guns and shiney new graphics. Halo 2 was only set apart from the original because it had XBL. Trust me, if you can get past your Halo fanboyism you'll see that CoD4's the better game. Then again I don't even know why I bother since you're not going to listen to a word I say anyways. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
