Looking forward to some new Nintendo announcements? Might want to hold tight until about July, according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. He tells Geoff Keighley on the newest GameTrailers TV that the company will be announcing the second half of '08's line-up at E3. What's on tap? Mostly misdirection and fanboy teasing, it sounds like.

When asked if the orchestra conductor demo from E3 2006 would make an appearance, Reggie said "Who knows? Maybe that's one of the things we'll talk about at E3." He similarly dodged a Donkey Kong Wii question.

Fils-Aime said that Nintendo's post-E3 releases will be "maximizing all of our key franchises," teasing something the hardcore userbase will be frothing over. F-Zero? Pilotwings? Something Zelda-related? What is it?!

Reggie was cagey. "There's gonna be a big game for the holiday that the gamers will want," he said. "All I can tell you is what we announce during E3 is gonna be fantastic. The gamer is gonna be excited and the expanded audience is gonna be excited."

So what do you think the game will be?  Could this be Nintendo blowing hot air, or is this a game that's really gonna be huge? I'm guessing a Pikmin game, and even though they've been excellent games, I'm not sure how well they sold.

yeah I saw this on GTTV last night. doubt its going to be anything big like Reggie is claiming it will be.. I believe LMX is the one always saying about Reggie and his big mouth. by the way he sucks at Wii fit

It won't be F-Zero since theres a MKWii out, they won't put out something to make people stop playing there best racer.

Maybe a Kid Icarus, something adventurous

I better not be some crappy Wii casual type game like Wii Fit.

The most un-likely possiblility would be Project H.A.M.M.E.R but I don't think that will happen. I really hope it's a new kid icarus game.

I just hope its something good. We already know about Mario Kart and Wii Fit, Disaster day,...well what ever its gonna be it better be worth my time.

I'm curious to see what it is but couldn't help notice the s missing in that quote. One game? One big game? It better be way big! I always forget, when is E3 anyways?

Reggie already hyping up E3. Didn't last years E3 get hyped too?

Anyway, go in expecting disappointment. Reggie would probably hype the announce of a piece of crap like Wii Play 2 or something. Anything to get the fans excited for the expo really.

Kid Icarus or Star Fox would be nice though. Reaaaaaaaally nice.

Wii Over-hype?

Nintendo wasn't exactly honest about giving the US Wii Fit and SSBB and letting PAL regions get Mario Kart far before anyone else, so I'm not sure why we should believe them now about this super amazing puppy dogs and kitty cats fun game.

YES, but Reggie had told people a month or two ago that PAL regions would get Mario Kart far in advance of US gamers, because we were getting SSBB and Wii fit so much earlier.

My money is on...hot air.

I want to see some Kid Icarus or Star Fox.

If something like Wii Sports 2 is the big game, Nintendo can get bent.

At least no 'December 3rd', right?
