The annual Game Development Association of Australia awards dinner was held this past Friday, and during that time, the Association handed out the GDAA Industry Awards for 2008. Surprisingly enough, it was a third-party Wii title developed by THQ, De Blob, that swept the awards. It handily picked up Best Console Title, Best Graphics, Best Audio, Best Gameplay, and Best Game.
Keep in mind that in order to qualify for one of these awards, you must be a member of the GDAA, so not all games available were eligible for these awards. Nonetheless, it's nice to see De Blob receive some recognition and we can only hope this motivates THQ to invest in a sequel.
